Listen, communicate and educate.
These three items will assist you in the end goal – sponsoring others.
Step 1 – ask questions and LISTEN to the answers. Truly listen. This is not always easy. We are often trained to answer questions with questions and to control the conversation.
Do you like to be controlled? Does your prospect?
When you truly listen, you won’t fire back with a pre-planned “script” of how to answer. You’ll be real and authentic. People pick up on “canned and scripted.” They also know real and authentic. They know when they have been heard.
Communicate by allowing a free flow of ideas in both directions. Ask questions, listen, clarify, and fill a need or be the answer to a question. Our ability to sponsor people into the business is based on our ability to communicate how our company, products, compensation plan and support will provide what is being sought.
Communicate the power of your opportunity through your passion, the stories you share and the commitment to partnership that you are offering.
It is not facts, figures and statistics that bring people into a business. It’s not a Fortune 500 status; a NYSE listing; a patent on a product; or a proprietary formula that sponsor people. It’s you, the value you offer and the commitment you make, along with your ability to listen, communicate and educate.
Model these effective methods and you’ll not only sponsor more people, you’ll sponsor POWER partners.

MLM Performance VS. Odds: Let's Be Clear
Oh, this one is a doozy, for sure.
Like many others, I have grown tired over the last 15 years, hearing about the "failure rate" in MLM and Network Marketing. I'm not sure about you, but when I started in the profession, I was skeptical, but certainly not going to "fail" if I decided to really invest myself in it.
I have also always wondered about those who want to know the "averages" of those in the business - average incomes; average sponsoring rations; etc. Who wants to be "average?"
Tim Sales really gets to the heart of it in his video and I invite you to not only enjoy 10 minutes of solid education, but decide for yourself where you fit into the equation and then share this video with everyone who has chosen the time and financial freedom that is associated with our profession.

Why Now is a GREAT Time to Start a Home Business
Considering Starting a
MLM Business?
Here are a few reasons why now
is a great time!
One of the things that really appealed to me 15 years ago when I was considering and then getting started with a home business were the tax benefits. Most people don't realize how much money can be saved from taxes alone during the first few years of building a business.
So, one reason to consider a business now would be the tax benefits.
Another was the simple cost savings of not having to drive to/from work each day; business clothing; business lunches and misc.; wear and tear on a vehicle; and not to mention day care costs if you have children.
So, another reason would be the savings you'll gain from NOT spending money on work requirements.
Finally, the ability to set your own hours, be your own boss and determine for yourself (through your efforts, of course) what your paycheck is going to be.

My New Year's Challenges for 2009
My New Year's Challenges
Live Life More, Love More, Work Less, Earn More – may sound crazy, but it can be done with proper mindset. I begin each day with a mindset routine that involves meditation; reading positive reinforcement and development books; having a daily action plan with my 3 Most Important Activities first on my list, and first checked off. Being effective and efficient in getting these things done will free up my time mentally and physically to enjoy more life, love more, work less and earn more.
Stay Fit and Focused – I recently had an elbow injury that made me really sit up and take notice about how important health is to a fun, active life. Although my injury was not serious, it definitely impaired my ability to do many of the things I enjoy doing. At one point, squeezing the toothpaste tube was painful. I can only imagine what a seriously debilitating illness or injury could be like. I resolve to eat clean, healthy organic food and move my body to stay fit and lean. Focus will make this happen.
Connect More – In December, 2008, I reconnected through Facebook with about 30 or so friends from as far back as elementary school. Just laughing and re-living old times brought such joy to my day and my life. I found myself laughing more, feeling more lighthearted and being happier all around. It reinforced for me the importance that people play in our lives. Relationships are the most important part of life and I have not always been the best at cultivating them. Play time with my friends is tops! This includes my business associates who have become such good friends as well!
Outsource More – this fits in with the work less, earn more. For the last 9 years, I have managed almost ALL of my online activities all by myself. I built my websites; updated them; wrote articles; blogged; and did anything that came along to promote myself and my business. I'm tired. And, I'm ineffective in many areas because no one person can do it all. So, I'm ready to surrender the stuff I don’t love. My passions are connecting with people and getting them started in business; writing; and coaching. I'll keep these areas and let someone else use their expertise to make me look better!
Buy American as much as possible – I absolutely love travel; other cultures and a global connection. And, I want to keep my own country strong so that we continue to contribute to the world in a positive way. At the top of this list, I won't be buying products made in China AT ALL. While I love the Chinese culture, I have absolutely had it with the Chinese government and all of its twisted policies designed to dis-empower its people and hold them down. The violence and hostility in Tibet has been the final straw. Outsourcing is one thing, but we have literally handed over almost all of our manufacturing jobs to China. And, buying those products is supporting the "sweat shop" mentality perpetuated there. I'm also anti-Wal-Mart.
Well, there are 5 clear challenges to keep me busy this year. And, I feel excited and empowered by each of them, so that is a good sign.

Creating MLM Momentum; Overcoming Obstacles and Reaching the TOP of the Mountain
Do you struggle with calling people who never call you back? They request information and then vaporize into thin air? Do you hand out samples and invite people to visit your website, but nothing ever happens? Do you schedule parties and retail events and get snowed out; or few people show? Do you sign people up in the business and they never even get started? They never place more than their first Starter Pack order?
You are on the right path and I want to assure you that everyone who has attained success in our business or any other has also faced and overcome these same challenges.
You MUST keep your chin up in order to have success in this business. Refuse to let events and people get you down or disappoint you. Those who you need are out there, and you never know how they are incubating, waiting to get involved.
Especially with leads. Don't assume that their lack of response means they aren't interested. Often it just means they aren't ready. I have had people join me 2 years after requesting information and many times, I haven't heard anything from them in that time. But they are studying and holding onto information.
Remember that this business is about starting with that small snowball and rolling it across the field until it gathers momentum and you reach the hill, and push it overboard. Once you get to that point, stand back. It flies and it does so quite effortlessly.
The hardest part is keeping the faith until you get a big enough snowball to shoot it down the hill.
Plant seeds DAILY. Water those seeds REGULARLY. Have a BIG vision of what your future holds here. And, never quit on any of these activities.
Instead of standing at the bottom looking at the top of the mountain, just look 10 feet in front of you and take those steps each day and just keep climbing! It's been said that you can drive from Los Angeles to New York in the dark with your headlights focused no more than 20 feet ahead. Follow the markings on the road that have been placed there by those who have gone before.
I promise you this - you will never regret it once you reach the top. You will feel amazing and empowered and you will spread those feelings to others.
